Saying 29

Jesus said, "If the flesh came into being because of spirit, it is a wonder. But if
spirit came into being because of the body, it is a wonder of wonders. Indeed, I
am amazed at how this great wealth has made its home in this poverty."
Life, itself, is a miracle. Creation is worthy of awe and wonder. The very fact that you and I
are here, that we are experiencing this moment, that life, with intelligence and self-awareness,
has evolved upon earth is an amazing and incredible thing. Who could imagine such potential
of life on earth before life came into being upon the earth? Who can imagine the potential
that will manifest in the future? It is all a secret operation of the Holy Spirit, and it is God who
imagines and creates ever more refined and higher forms of life through the agency of
nature. Look and see Logos (the Word) and Sophia (the wisdom of God) within yourself and
all around you! It is truly amazing! Amid the countless billions of stars in an infinite universe, it
is reasonable to assume that intelligent and self-aware life-forms have evolved in other
worlds, just as we have come into being here on earth. It is even reasonable to assume that,
out of innumerable worlds of intelligent life, more refined and higher forms of life have
evolved, life-forms beyond our ability to comprehend. One need only see the multitude of
life-forms here on earth to reasonably conclude how vast the spectrum of life-forms is in the
material universe. Looking in this way at the starry night sky, surely awe and wonder of God,
the Life-power, naturally and spontaneously dawns and Mother Wisdom speaks in one's soul.

To allow holy awe and wonder to emerge is to experience, to some degree, something of the
presence of God in that very moment. The greater the intensity of awe and wonder, the more
one enters and is entered by the living presence. Life and Nature herself is a gate into the
Divine presence through which you may pass any time you wish -- all you must do is allow
yourself to be amazed. In the eyes of a prophet or apostle of God, faith in God is an
interesting idea. To the holy ones, God is self-evident in all of Creation, in everyone and
everything, and both inwardly and outwardly, the holy tzaddik is experiencing God all of the
time. In fact, so are you. If there is a difference it is only that, perhaps, you are unaware of
what you are experiencing. Some individuals are so unaware that they would propose there is
no such thing as God or an intelligent consciousness-force within and behind the Creation of
the universe but rather that, from a void of ignorance, the energy-intelligence of life has
emerged, and so suggest that the body gives rise to consciousness on account of some sort
of random factor.

If the idea of God seems amazing, then how amazing and unbelievable is all of this devoid of
God? I tell you, it is absolutely unbelievable and unreasonable! To speak of faith in God is
something more than merely believing in the existence of God. Rather, it is belief with
understanding in the ever-more you can be in the Spirit of God, the ever-becoming of
yourself and the whole of creation, ever nearer and more like unto God itself. It is faith and
hope in the infinite and exhaustless Divine potential -- that all things are possible in God. If
one has seen something of the divine vision of the intention of God in humanity, then our
present humanity does seem like a poverty in contrast to the Christ-like or God-like human
being we are evolving toward.

The potential in us of that Divine human being the Messiah, is the wealth that dwells in our
present poverty, that is to say, the gnosis hidden within our present ignorance. Imagine, for a
moment, a human being that is completely transformed on all levels of consciousness, with
every level fully linked to every other level, a transformation even of the matter composing
the physical body itself, which is the material level of consciousness, so that the human being
becomes self-radiant like an angel.

Yet more, imagine all duality dissolved, even the duality of genders, so that this person is
even more angel-like. Imagine a state of consciousness that knows directly within itself all that
it directs attention toward and that needs no thought but functions through pure awareness
and accomplishes everything through a silent will, a will that is a manifestation of the Will of
God. Yes, something above the angels, something Christ-like or God-like! Who can imagine
it?  It's too amazing and wonderful to imagine! Besides it is beyond all imagination and
thought as we understand it. It is supernal and supramental! How awesome! How wonderful! It
really is amazing!
